Not-for-profit Hospice of the Valley has been caring for patients
with life-limiting illnesses since 1977. Care teams work together to
meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and
their families. Teams include physicians, nurses, social workers,
personal care aides, chaplains, bereavement counselors and
volunteers. Most hospice care is delivered in the home or at one of
our 16 palliative care units.
Hospice of the Valley is a community-based hospice that serves a
diversity of people, including military veterans. Through our HOV
Salutes program, we provide special recognition and support to our
patients who are veterans. The program includes a "pinning ceremony"
to recognize veteransí service; contact with other veterans; and
support from staff trained in issues that could emerge at
end-of-life, such as post-traumatic stress disorder.
